Vagabond

Hi,how's your week going? At the weekend I was a very lucky girl as Hubby bought me a Vagabond! When I was lucky enough to take a class with Tim Holtz back in February I saw this demonstrated. It really does make cutting grungeboard and chipboard a doddle. Here is a tag I made.
If you want to see what I made with Sir Tim,look under configuration box!

Happy Retirement

Hi,well where did that week go? I still can't leave comments for anyone. Still admiring everyone's projects but so sorry as blogger just keeps going in a continuous loop everytime I try. Hope it's sorted soon.   I have a retirement card for a colleague of mine. In the UK people traditionally received carriage clocks as a retirement gift and although this is now outdated I ran with a similar theme.
The clock and all layers are cut at 5" from Wrap It Up cricut cartridge. Everything inked, doodled and clock popped on 3d foam.
I am entering this over at Celebrate The Occasion - #15 - Retirement. Do check out the great DT projects.

Have a great weekend. Another long one!! Yay! Hugs, Jayne x

Set Sail

Hi,bit of a dramatic time here! My husband spent the night at hospital last night......but he's okay now. We are all very tired though!
So,after school run decided to do my housework and then get into my craft room. If I went back to bed I just wouldn't sleep tonight,so I am ' doing' the 'keep going' mode!!
I love sailing - not the dinghy kind, but yachts. With this in mind I came up with this card.....

I used Just Because Cards for the card, sea and boat. I cut acetate 'sea' ,embossed with divine swirls and overlayed the card sea and added dew drops. The sails are stamped and clear embossed. The boat was also embossed. The clouds were cut from Create a Critter. I used white lace behind the boat for the sea foam and added an anchor charm to the stern,(the charm is another 99p shop find).

Close up to show all the dimension.                                          Close up of the acetate.

I am entering this over at Fantabulous Cricut challenge #61 - Blue Skies. There are some really lovely DT projects so do check them out. It's taken all evening to try and post this and now I am off to bed.....

Robot

Hi,Happy Sunday! Hope you have had a good weekend. Don't they fly by?
I have a cute and easy masculine card I made to enter into a challenge over at  Cricut Cardz. The challenge this week - #75 - is to make a masculine, birthday card with wheels. Also, over at  Die Cuttin' Diva's - #15 - masculine cuts.
So,obviously a robot with wheels sprang to mind!!!

A close up to show the dimension.

The robot was cut at 3" from Robotz cricut cartridge.
The mirri card was embossed and distressed.
All cuts inked, top layer of robot embossed.
The sentiment is from Stampendous - Botz Quotz
Spanner charm swings on the brad.

I like the quirkiness of this card!
Thanks for calling by. Hugs,Jayne x

Embossing

How's your weekend going? Busy family day today, which has been great. Not long 'til we go on holiday!! I have been busy buying books ready. I love to read, but after work and everything else I spend my time crafting,so holidays are a great way for me to catch up on my fave authors.

I can't believe that I now have 59 followers! Thank you so much and welcome to my blog.

Today I have a card that I made for my Aunty who is going into hospital tomorrow. Before cricut I used to stamp and heat emboss all my projects,so this is what I have done today.

Recipe
Hero arts stamps
Background stamped in 2 shades of green
Piece of card inked in green and covered in crystal embossing powders
Heat set, repeated 2 more times and then stamped into whilst still hot
(I am pretty sure everyone knows this technique but just in case...The stamp was inked up with black which helps show it up against the now crystal tile and to release the stamp as it cools)
Heart gems added and to the sentiment
3d foam

Click on the image to enlarge, hopefully you can see the deboss of the stamp on the tile.

I am entering this intoWhimsical Wednesdays - challenge#7 - Back to Basics. The challenge suggests using stickers etc, things we may have used before the cricut. I never did use stickers, just stamping techniques!

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend. Jayne x

Tweet Heart

I received some My Pink Stamper stamps from Robyn at Fantabulous Cricut  (my prize from a previous challenge), and I really wanted to have a play with them. The stamps are Tweetie Hoo puns and I thought this particular sentiment was perfect for an anniversary card.

Wacky Wednesday  - #38 Anything Goes
Do check out the great DT projects they have on these blogs.

Recipe

Napkin Card

Hi,hope you had a good weekend,I can never believe just how quickly they fly by! I don't usually work a Monday,so today I have spent the morning in my craft room.
I came across a tutorial at StampARTic for a napkin fold card. Liked the idea so thought I would have a play. Now,generally I like quite instant craft, but this took a little more time just to get the folds the right way(you'll know what I mean if you have a go),and then to cut the triangles as I used my cricut. Maybe sometimes it would be easier to follow all the tutorial and not just the initial folds!! LOL!
Gosh,I have quite a lot of photos to share!

12 x12 paper folded and Martha Stewart around the page punched

George and Basic Shapes for  triangles - cut as squares at 2",2.25" and 4"  and cut in half.
I used cuttlebug and sizzix embossing folders throughout, everything was inked.

For the inside of the card...
Star and shadow from George cut at 4",embossed,sanded,inked,glamour dusted and popped on 3d foam.
Rectangles also from George cut at 1.5" and shadowed at 1.75",stamped with Personal Impressions stamp, inked, embossed, glamour dusted.(the tiny stars) and again on 3d foam.

The wrapper is attached to the back of the card. I love the font  on Life's a Party, slightly retro.Dad cut and shadowed at 1",inked and popped.

Are you still with me? Well done for hanging in there! This is  a card for my Dad for Father's Day. I like how it turned out,it was quite complicated at times but now I have cricut cut sizes I would make another for a special occasion.
I am entering this into..
Fantabulous Cricut - challenge #60 - Try this Angle - use a rectangle and a triangle
Simply Sunday Challenge - Retro Daddy!
The Paper Variety - star studded challenge
I think I'm becoming addicted to challenges! These are great blogs,do go on over and see the great Design Team projects and all the other amazing entries.

Going to rest my fingers after all that blogging! Lol!
Have a fantastic day,Jayne x

Sunshine Girl

So pleased it's the Weekend! Hope you are having a good start to yours. In celebration of our amazing weather, I decided to make this card. I've had a sort out in my craft room and came across some stamps my husband bought me earlier in the year. When he surprised me with them, my son was very poorly and I never got a chance to play. They are a set called 'Rain, snow and shine' from The Greeting Farm. I hadn't realised or remembered that there was a sunshine girl. I thought the sentiment works well with the dog, as they always show such unconditional love.

I am entering this in Paper Crafting World - #4 Stamp Challenge, 2 shades of pink and a ribbon.

Recipe
Tag card made using Sizzix die and distressed inked
Brown card stock, embossed and inked with white
Upcyled packaging, die cut and then embossed through Bigshot
Shine from Greeting Farm stamp
Dog - Prima stamp
Coloured with copics
Sentiment - Paula Pascual stamp set
Glossy accents for sunglasses and dog's nose
Ribbon is the blog candy I won from Kate at Small bits of paper, p.s. I love it!

Thanks for looking, Jayne x

Thanks Mr R

Hi, hope you are all having a good week. Been a very busy work week, so not much time for craft! Over at Fantabulous Cricut their challenge #59 is Teacher Feature with the colour red on it. I believe it is Teacher Appreciation Week in the States, we don't have this in the UK. End of July is the end of our school year and is when we would give a small gift and card. So I have made a card ready for my son to give his teacher (if I haven't misplaced it by the end of July!!!!lol). I am also entering this at Cardz TV for the National Scrapbooking Day challenge, to make a card or layout using fruit.

Can you believe how simple I've kept this? No, neither can I, but I like how it turned out.

Hello Kitty Cartridge for the card and all the cuts at 3"
Inked and doodled
EK Success punch for the Thanks tag

Thanks for looking, love Jayne x

Just for You

Hi,hope your weekend is going well.Today I have a pretty card that came to mind when I made my snow angel the other day.
This image is on Winter Frolic - minus the flowers.I decided to make a spring/summer card with it. The flowers are from George and cut from purple vellum.

I glued the branch directly to the paper and 3d foamed the birdhouse and ends of the smaller branches for movement. The background paper is Picnic in the Park by serif.

I am entering this intoCooking with Cricut - #28,3 flowers & purple.
Thanks for looking.Hugs,Jaynex

Beach Chair

Hi,hope you have had a good week.Today's post goes with our weather really well. This card appeals to me as we are off on our family holiday in a couple of weeks and we always do activity hols,skiing,golfing,sailing...I love doing all these things but when my husband asked what I fancied this year,my reply was 'a beach holiday'!
So lucky me,we are hotel based but with lots of day boats to sail and watersports facilities.(Don't do 'doing nothing' very well,so this is great!)
I thought the sentiment went really well with the card as I know sometimes I need to slow down and just 'appreciate what is'.
This is to show the dimension.Click on any picture to enlarge.

I just liked the way the sun was coming through the aperture on this one!

I am entering this in Cricut Cardz challenge#73 - beach theme.

Recipe
Life's a Beach - card cut at 5.5",chair was covered in white acrylic paint, ink distressed and doodled.
Umbrella - 4" embossed and inked
Ball - 1.5",inked and doodled
Hero arts sentiment stamp
Background paper has ships on it -think it was sandylion
As usual all things inked and lots of 3d foam

Snow Angel

How strange does that title sound especially given the fact our weather is so beautiful at the moment?!
Well,I don't know about you but although I make handmade cards I send very few of them at Christmas as I am always so busy making them for other people(and I adore making gift boxes and allsorts of christmassy  things...tree gifts, things for the table etc.),that I decided I should start earlier this year.
I found Diecut Dreams Christmas Club who hold a weekly challenge to make a christmas project. The theme this week is Christmas Angels/Fairies.You don't have to use a diecut but seeing how much I like my cricut,I had to!!
My son loves making snow angels,so I was drawn to this cut.

Hopefully this picture shows the dimension.

Recipe
Winter Frolic cricut cart - all cuts inked/doodled
Ladybug and Friends background paper edged with white acrylic paint
Glitter lace
Pearls
3D foam
Snow writer on words

One down, only about another fifty to go!Thanks for stopping by.Jayne x

Canvas

Hi Everyone, hope you are having a good Wednesday. This weather here is still amazing! Over at The Paper Variety they are having a 'Let's get Messy' challenge to use mists, inks or paints.I love using my cricut but altered art and inking are some of my personal favourites. So I am the proud owner of filthy inky hands and this is what I came up with..
Anyone who follows my blog will know I have made mini canvses with Tim Holtz's bird cage die and tags with the sewing dummy, but this is  a much bigger canvas for me.This has been upcycled from a previous attempt which has sat at the back of my cupboard for years! It measures 5x5" which compared to my usual 3x2" is huge for me.Lol!

The previous picture was of green hills and houses so I needed to apply 2 layers of cream acrylic paint.I applied it with an old cosmetic sponge thickly for texture and used my heat gun to dry every layer of paint and ink I applied...yes I really am that impatient!
I applied sweeps of Tim Holtz's distress stain in broken china randomly over the canvas.(Everything except cream paint, heart and pin is Ranger or Tim).I then added dashes of  cloudy blue Adirondack acrylic dabber directly to the canvas and blended.

All sides were edged with vintage photo distress ink.I then used various Stampers Anonymous stamps and used black adirondack, fired brick and weathered wood distress inks to apply them directly to the canvas. The advantage of the big canvas was that I could run my fingers over the stamp from the inside to get a good image.Distress ink smudges easily at this stage and took a lot of heat gun drying!

Sewing die inked with vintage photo and walnut stain, thick calico cut, stamped, inked and added with a ribbon and heart,
Bird and cage die cut out of grungeboard(I love this stuff).Distress stained, lake mist, willow, aqua and cloudy blue adirondack dabbers to try and make cage slightly verdi gris.Edged with gold krylon.
Medium and mini rosette die cut and inked.
As always I love dimension and used strong glue on 3d foam to attach dummy and cage.
Ribbon was distress inked before tying on dummy.

I am entering this atGetting Cricky - sew fabulous.A very inspirational site.
I am really pleased with how this turned out and am going to display this in my living room. Thanks for looking.Hugs,Jayne x
